I see you're taking advantage of the Web's ability to increase productivity.

Well, welcome. Now that you're here, you might as well read about the best dog in the world. Herewith, the Official Trixie FAQ.

Who is Trixie?

Trixie is a brown standard poodle who belongs to me and my wife, Maryellen Kelly. She (Trixie) was born in 1989 and weighs about 43 pounds. She was bred by Graphic Standard Poodles of San Rafael, CA, and has numerous relatives who are named after fonts, including Helvetica and Copperplate. Her ancestors are named after fonts because her breeder, Florence Graham, was a graphic designer.

Who is Trixie named after?

Trixie is named after the wife of Ed Norton, Ralph Kramden's best friend on The Honeymooners TV series.

How does Trixie (the dog) spend most of her time?

Like all dogs, Trixie sleeps a lot. During the day, she often slumbers in my office. She also enjoys going to the beaches along California's Mendocino coast, where she lives. She was once a very skilled Frisbee dog, as you can see from the animation below. However, in 1998, she suffered an ACL tear in one of her knees, and now she's in retirement.

What did Trixie do on July 4, 1996?

I'm so glad you asked. She marched in the Mendocino 4th of July parade as part of the Poodles on Parade "float." Check it out.

Do you happen to have any QuickTime VR virtual-reality object movies of Trixie?

Your questions are most astute. As a matter of fact, Trixie has been objectified. If you have the free QuickTime software, you may view Trixie from every angle.

Does Trixie bark a lot?

Let's just say she isn't in the habit of keeping her opinions to herself. You can download a Trixie bark if you like. This Mac OS-format sound file (4K) makes a fine error beep sound.

Are there any Web sites devoted to poodles?

Yes! Foremost among them is Poodle World, where you can sign up for the Poodle Support Group mailing list.

Hoflin Publishers Poodle Museum is a must-visit for any poodle maniac.

VIP (that's short for Versatility in Poodles) is, in its words, "is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Health, Education, and Performance of POODLES!"

Dogmark's Cool Dog Site of the Day isn't poodle specific, but is a great place to spend some time.

Another great animal site is that of the San Francisco SPCA.
